Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to join our team at GEODIS Group. As an Assistant Manager of Production, you will be responsible for managing and directing a team of supervisors and employees in daily operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and direct a team of supervisors and employees in daily operations
  • Work with the team to improve the cosmetic quality of production output
  • Maintain quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products
  • Inspect garments during and after the production process for non-negotiables and acceptable quality limits
  • Make final decisions to pass or fail QC inspections; coach and train material handlers and embroidery operators in the total operation of the production cell
  • Document daily inspection results and tests by completing reports and logs; summarize re-work and waste
  • Evaluate the setup of embroidery files are accurate and ready for production
  • Coordinate communication with customer resources to ensure quality standards are fulfilled for embroidery requirements of different business units
  • Work with customer resources to collect requested information and specifications, identify logo improvements or adjustments to increase quality
  • Read instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product and supplies; develop strong working knowledge of embroidery on customers different fabrics
  • Test new products, materials and techniques to meet the customers specifications and implement in production
  • Develop processes to reduce and salvage damaged garments; manage quality processes by reducing or maintaining scrap on or below 5%
  • Notify management or staff of production problems as they occur
  • Responsible for maintaining and supporting the 5S program
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and training
  • PC proficiency to include Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. He/she is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. He/she must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles, and can be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold including climates consistent with outside weather conditions.
