Key Responsibilities:

Formulating and executing data-driven maintenance strategies for track and infrastructure.

Overseeing compliance with operational maintenance and capital budget for each project and property.

Identifying and implementing enhancements to infrastructure that align with business requirements and strategic planning.

Establishing and executing processes to optimize productivity within the department.

Conducting periodic assessments for potential acquisitions.

Regularly monitoring conditions through frequent property inspections; travel requirements are 50-75%.

Managing comprehensive maintenance and engineering operations.

Required Qualifications:

Successful candidates will demonstrate the following:

Strong leadership capabilities with a proven ability to inspire and motivate team members.

Effective communication skills with senior management, employees, clients, other railroads, regulatory authorities, and the public.

Robust strategic management abilities to oversee multiple P&L engineering divisions.

Extensive knowledge of FRA track, signal, and bridge standards, including CFR 49 Safety Regulations.

Ability to comprehend and interpret safety regulations, CRFR, AREMA, and monthly reporting documents.

Capable of setting direction based on overarching corporate strategic goals.

Proficient in establishing and understanding key performance indicators (KPIs) and objective key results (OKRs).

Ability to utilize key performance metrics to support corporate performance expectations.

Understanding of asset utilization as it pertains to the engineering sector.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.


Demonstrated business management acumen with the capacity to oversee and guide performance in planning, budgeting, decision-making, assessment, reporting, and overall performance management.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Additional Requirements:
Must successfully complete all required assessments.

Background screening is mandatory.

A post-offer medical examination, including drug and physical capability testing, may be required.


Strict disciplinary measures are in place regarding tardiness or failure to respond to work calls.

Travel is expected to be 50-75%.

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.


A minimum of 10 years of practical experience in railroad engineering and maintenance, or a combination of a college degree in engineering and at least 5 years of railroad engineering experience.


Insurability Criteria:


A valid driver's license and a satisfactory 3-year driving history as per our auto insurance provider's standards are required.

As a vital member of the management team, the selected candidate may undertake various additional projects as assigned.


The chosen applicant may be required to successfully complete a background check, health history review, and drug screening.

All results must be satisfactory prior to the commencement of the new position.
