Job Summary

The Assistant Vice President, Anesthesia Operations, provides strategic leadership to and management of the anesthesia physician practices. This role reports directly to the SVP Specialty Division WellStar Medical Group with a dyad reporting relationship to the WMG Anesthesia Specialty Lead and Surgery SL Chief.

This individual oversees daily practice operations, implements plans and processes communicated by WellStar Medical Group leadership, and ensures operational efficiencies and quality service through monitoring of practice performance. They partner to develop and implement action plans for efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor systems, processes, and procedures to continuously improve services, efficiency, and outcomes of practices within the Division.
  • Work closely with accounting, WellStar Medical Group resources, and other operational leaders to ensure appropriate information is available to make sound operational decisions.
  • Partner with the WMG Specialty Lead for Anesthesia to ensure high-quality, safe clinical care is provided to patients of practices.
  • Routinely monitor patient feedback and quality metric results.
  • Maintain strong positive relationships with team members, physicians, advanced practitioners, patients, and the public.
  • Participate as an active and supportive part of the WellStar Medical Group Leadership team, where success is illustrated through practice growth, improved patient access, financial performance, and positive patient experience.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum 8 years to ten years in a leadership role of a medical group, hospital, or healthcare organization required.
  • Minimum 4 years in a surgical or anesthesia operations leadership position, with proven success in impacting and improving patient experience, required.
  • Minimum 2 years to four years of experience in a multiple-practice structure that includes integrated delivery specialties, preferred.
