Department InformationThe Department of Engineering Technology consists of over 400 students and 10 full-time faculty members in two ABET-accredited undergraduate 4-year degree programs. The faculty are committed to student success and delivering a nationally recognized program. Scholarship in the department spans both industry- and government-funded research projects focused on practical application of engineering principles.
Job SummaryWe are now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time faculty positions in Mechanical Engineering Technology for the academic year. These positions are on an as-needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience.
ResponsibilitiesTeaching responsibilities include:
- Teaching undergraduate Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) and Engineering Design Graphics (EDG) courses
- Teaching MET courses, which are project-based and application-focused, giving students real-life experiences in the classroom
- Teaching EDG courses using SolidWorks Design and/or AutoCAD software
A minimum of a Master's degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a closely related field is required.
Preferred QualificationsA PE license, college-level teaching experience, and experience with online teaching platforms are preferred. For graphics instructors, SolidWorks professional certification is also preferred.
