Key responsibilities include evaluating suppliers, overseeing documentation, addressing non-conformances, performing ongoing supplier assessments, and nurturing partnerships. The Process Improvement Specialist works closely with procurement and research and development teams to support strategic sourcing, ensure business continuity, and facilitate innovation commercialization.
Responsibilities of the Process Improvement Specialist:
- Assess current manufacturing workflows, pinpoint inefficiencies, and devise thorough enhancement strategies to boost productivity, minimize waste, and optimize resource allocation.
- Spearhead and guide continuous improvement initiatives utilizing methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Total Quality Management (TQM) to refine operations, eliminate bottlenecks, and elevate overall performance.
- Employ statistical tools and data analysis techniques to gather, assess, and interpret operational data, recognize trends, and produce actionable insights to facilitate informed decision-making and process enhancements.
- Collaborate with various departments, including production, quality assurance, supply chain, and R&D, to cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, align goals, and implement standardized processes and best practices.
- Provide training, mentorship, and support to employees at all levels to foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and accountability, ensuring widespread adoption of improvement initiatives and sustainable outcomes.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs), create dashboards, and develop performance metrics to monitor progress, track enhancements, and assess the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
- Drive organizational change by effectively communicating improvement initiatives, engaging stakeholders, addressing resistance, and championing a mindset of continuous improvement and adaptability to change.
- Maintain precise documentation of improvement projects, process modifications, and results achieved, and prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management review and decision-making.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Black Belt) are preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in continuous improvement, process optimization, or related roles within the manufacturing sector, ideally in food or confectionery production.
- Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) and their practical application in a manufacturing context.
- Proficient in utilizing software tools, including MS Office, SAP, SharePoint, and supplier management systems.
