A Day In The Life Of Our Senior Controls Engineer:

Designs and implements control systems:
Develops algorithms and software that dictate robot behavior, ensuring accurate movements and desired outcomes.

Develops calibration strategies:
Establishes procedures and methods to fine-tune control algorithms and parameters for nonlinear systems, meticulously documenting technical work.


Creates mathematical models of nonlinear systems: Constructs mathematical representations of robotic mechanics to forecast behavior, assess performance, and refine control strategies.


Designs and executes experiments:

Plans and conducts thorough testing procedures to assess control system functionality, identify potential issues, and validate robot performance across various conditions.


Collaborates with peers:

Engages closely with mechanical, electrical, software, and clinical engineers to ensure effective integration of controls within the overall robotic system.


Develops high-standard software for the implementation, testing, and integration of algorithms: Creates and maintains control algorithm software and unit tests in Python and C++, participating in design and code reviews.


Is hands-on with hardware and possesses a deep understanding of mechanical design and user needs: Has practical experience with robotic hardware, comprehensively understanding user requirements and translating them into control system specifications for optimal performance and functionality.

Regularly engages in clinical labs to internalize user experiences and feedback.

Contributes to risk analysis, requirements, and documentation for medical products.

About You:
Holds, at minimum, an M.S. degree with 3 years of relevant experience or a Ph.D. in Mechanical, Controls, Robotics, or related Engineering disciplines.

Possesses experience in control system development, modeling, and implementation on hardware systems.

Demonstrates the ability to decompose complex problems into manageable components.

Exhibits comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical experience in kinematics, dynamics, feedback control, sensors, and actuators, with familiarity in position, velocity, torque, and current control.

Can work independently and is determined to overcome challenging problems.


Is an effective communicator capable of providing clear explanations of problems and their thought processes.


Values thorough documentation of work to empower team members to learn from and build upon their contributions.

Experience with rapid prototyping algorithms in Python and C++.
