Job Title: Adoptions Representative

At the Hawaiian Humane Society, we are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Adoptions Representative to join our team. As an Adoptions Representative, you will play a critical role in facilitating successful matches between people and pets, providing exceptional customer service, and promoting the welfare of animals in our care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Familiarize yourself with all animals available for adoption during each shift to provide thoughtful decision-making support for potential adopters.
  • Provide education on responsible pet ownership and the Humane Society's mission prior to each adoption.
  • Deliver exceptional customer care, treating all animals and the public with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Support off-site adoptions events, handle animal selection and transport, and ensure timely transactions.
  • Assist with lost and found services, including report completion, shelter searches, and reunions.
  • Collaborate with animal care staff to expedite care for adopted animals and schedule grooming and baths as needed.
  • Manage the retail store, ensuring familiarity with products and providing recommendations to customers.
  • Provide daily activity reports and cash management activities for accounting.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming adoptions center, including lanai areas, Cat House, and dog kennels.
Requirements:
  • Excellent customer service skills, including verbal, written, and computer proficiency.
  • Ability to competently perform cash, computer, licensing, and paperwork transactions.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record, with willingness to drive company vehicles.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with one year of customer service experience preferred.
Working Conditions:
  • Indoor and outdoor work environments, with use of computer, cash register, database, and telephone systems.
  • Physical demands include standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and handling animals with care.
