We are currently looking for a full-time Foster Care Coordinator to undertake responsibilities related to the recruitment, training, licensing, and ongoing support of foster families, along with associated adoption services.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Conducting initial assessments for prospective Foster Parents
  • Providing in-home orientation sessions
  • Facilitating pre-service training (24 hours) bi-monthly
  • Offering in-service training as required to meet licensing standards
  • Performing comprehensive home studies, which involve:
    • Background checks and fingerprinting
    • Conducting interviews (3 sessions of 2+ hours each)
    • Reference verification
    • Creating home diagrams
    • Compiling written reports (4-5 hours)
  • Managing IFCCA applications
  • Overseeing IQIS 335 applications (minimum of 1 hour)
  • Conducting annual license reviews (1/4 of initial time)
  • Matching families with children available for adoption
  • Coordinating and participating in interviews
  • Administering SNAP
  • Recruiting new Foster Parents
  • Coordinating alternative training through a lending library
  • Conducting private adoption studies
  • Managing license modifications and reapplications
  • Establishing support groups for Foster Parents
  • Coordinating appreciation events for Foster Parents
  • Maintaining Foster Parent files for compliance inspections
  • Overseeing relicensing every four years (1/2 time of initial study)

Ideal Candidates Will Possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS, BSW) in Human Services from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience or training.
  • A valid driver's license, a driving record in line with Meridian's policy, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance.
