We are currently in search of a full-time Foster Care Coordinator to manage responsibilities related to the recruitment, training, licensing, and ongoing support of foster families, along with associated adoption services.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Conducting initial assessments for foster parents
- Facilitating in-home orientations
- Providing pre-service training (24 hours) bi-monthly
- Offering in-service training as required for licensing compliance
- Completing home studies, which involve:
- Background checks and fingerprinting
- Conducting interviews (3 sessions of 2+ hours each)
- Performing reference verifications
- Creating diagrams and written reports (4-5 hours)
- Managing IFCCA applications
- Overseeing IQIS 335 applications (minimum of 1 hour)
- Conducting annual license reviews (1/4 of initial time)
- Matching families with children available for adoption
- Coordinating and participating in interviews
- Facilitating SNAP processes
- Recruiting new foster parents
- Coordinating alternative training through a lending library
- Conducting private adoption studies
- Handling license modifications and reapplications
- Establishing support groups for foster parents
- Organizing appreciation events for foster parents
- Maintaining foster parent files for compliance inspections
- Managing relicensing every four years (1/2 of initial study time)
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS, BSW) in Human Services from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience or training.
- A valid driver’s license, a driving record that aligns with Meridian's policies, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance.
