Position Summary:

The Senior Electrician for Residential Services plays a crucial role in overseeing and executing all service-related tasks with minimal supervision. This position demands the ability to function both autonomously and collaboratively within a service team. Key responsibilities encompass preventative and corrective maintenance, electrical diagnostics, module upkeep, compliance with safety protocols, and fostering process enhancements and innovations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, maintain, service, and repair both residential and commercial solar systems and associated apparatus to guarantee complete customer satisfaction.
  • Engage with clients and colleagues at a professional level, demonstrating the capability to work independently as well as part of a dynamic team.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance through both physical and visual inspections.
  • Execute corrective maintenance on residential and commercial solar installations.
  • Provide remote and on-site customer services, including installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair of solar systems and related equipment.
  • Carry out comprehensive system commissioning independently.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters and SunEye to identify solar system issues.
  • Perform meter swaps and replacements as necessary.
  • Conduct SunEye tests and thorough investigations into system underperformance.
  • Manage system deactivations and reactivations effectively.
  • Complete standard reporting, including uploading images and compiling written reports to meet company standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse/storage units.
  • Prepare materials for scheduled tasks with minimal guidance.
  • Oversee the check-in and return of materials, including executing the full RMA process.
  • Identify necessary components to fulfill standard work scopes.
  • Organize inventory and conduct material counts.
  • Facilitate like-for-like inverter replacements without monitoring.
  • Safely unload and load vehicles as per equipment requirements.
  • Install flashings and mounts on rooftops correctly.
  • Review schedules and execute standard work scopes as needed with minimal guidance.
  • Complete daily ADP timecards and weekly job expense reports.
  • Ensure the company vehicle is equipped with necessary materials for service tasks.
  • Transport materials to job sites to complete service work effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Master Electrician License required in the relevant state.
  • A minimum of 12,000 hours (6 years) of practical electrical experience, including at least 4,000 hours (2 years) as a journeyman electrician.
  • Proven expertise in Residential Solar Commissioning or Installation.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable standards is essential.
  • 1+ years of experience in Residential Solar Operations and Maintenance required.
  • 3+ years of experience in Residential Solar Installation required.
  • 3+ years of previous field construction experience required.
  • Strong customer service skills and excellent communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed safety decisions.
  • Physical capability to work on rooftops and in confined spaces.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work on various rooftop angles and surfaces, requiring frequent bending, twisting, and climbing.
  • Capability to operate in outdoor conditions, including extreme weather.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 80 pounds.
