Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Inside Sales Representative plays a crucial role in promoting and selling our extensive range of pipes, valves, fittings, and related products. This position is essential for enhancing company revenue through the establishment of robust customer relationships, generating new business leads, addressing customer inquiries, and supporting marketing efforts. You will collaborate with both inside and outside sales teams to optimize revenue and provide outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a positive customer service environment for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver quotes to customers based on technical specifications of products.
  • Assist the Outside Sales team by ensuring a seamless customer service experience through prompt quotations and order processing.
  • Handle customer inquiries via phone and ensure their needs are met effectively.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by following up on orders and expediting as necessary.
  • Work closely with management and outside sales representatives to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Engage with vendors and manufacturer partners to strengthen relationships and stay informed about new products and technologies.
  • Review daily reports to ensure timely fulfillment of backorders and complete customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with purchasing to source non-stock items when inventory is unavailable.
  • Close sales directly with customers and in partnership with the Outside Sales team.
  • Provide friendly and helpful customer service at all times.
  • Coordinate quotations and sales orders using the Company's sales software in conjunction with our warehouse management system.
  • Adhere to established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives while striving for continuous quality improvement.
  • Manage customer projects throughout their lifecycle to ensure all project needs are met.
  • Market and promote all service-related offerings available from the Company.
  • Support warehouse operations, sales counter, and will-call services to ensure a positive customer experience when required.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the facility.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Ability to build rapport with both internal and external customers effectively.
  • A positive attitude and capability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong mathematical skills are necessary.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • Proficient in general computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Service-oriented mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and operate with a degree of autonomy.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and phone communication skills.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the commercial PVF industry is required.
  • Prior experience in sales of HVAC and boiler hydronic heating systems is essential.
  • Previous customer service experience is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking are required.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Visual, hearing, and speech acuity are necessary for this role.
