Stellar is seeking a highly skilled Construction Superintendent I to oversee the day-to-day execution of higher education and institutional projects in the Gainesville, FL area. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and direct all trades on the project, including subcontractors, to ensure timely completion and quality workmanship.
  • Preplan and schedule project activity on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, as required, to meet project deadlines.
  • Develop and implement construction techniques and methods to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Recruit and manage a team of skilled workers to ensure project success.
  • Prepare and submit daily reports, including labor quantities, to ensure accurate tracking of project progress.
  • Assist in soliciting qualified subcontractors and monitor their performance to ensure timely completion and quality workmanship.
  • Identify and report any extra work requested by the owner or occasioned by job conditions, which is beyond the original estimate or scope of work.
  • Ensure accurate layout of lines and grades for all work performed by Stellar employees and subcontractors.
  • Conduct daily safety audits and implement effective safety practices to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Develop and maintain good local relations, particularly on out-of-town projects.
  • Provide on-site training to employees to build a strong and knowledgeable workforce.
Requirements
  • 5+ years' experience as a Superintendent or similar role.
  • Higher Education, K-12, or other institutional project experience required.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
  • Supervisory responsibilities may include nights and weekends, subject to facility needs.
