Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Accounts Receivable Analyst plays a crucial role in managing cash application processes within the organization. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in financial transactions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cash Application Duties:

  1. Generate daily autopost and error reports to ensure accuracy.
  2. Collect daily electronic payment data from banking institutions.
  3. Conduct data matching and accurately enter cash transactions on a daily basis.
  4. Balance and record batches using AS400 or other relevant software to streamline cash posting.
  5. Collaborate closely with Credit Specialists to verify the correctness of cash postings.

Remittance Management:

  1. Acquire necessary remittance information.
  2. Adjust remittance formats for automated payment processing as required.
  3. Assess the correct posting of Unapplied Payments and Deductions.

Cash Balancing Activities:

  1. Compile a daily Cash Posting report by reconciling with the Treasury Daily Balances report.
  2. Update the report to reflect cash status across multiple bank accounts and currencies.
  3. Maintain daily updates to the Cash Posting report regarding payment statuses.
  4. Reconcile AS400 Cash Receipts Report with the Cash Posting report on a daily basis.
  5. Investigate and resolve cash discrepancies.
  6. Organize and maintain files systematically for off-site storage.
  7. Assist in audit-related inquiries.
  8. Perform additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong emphasis on accuracy.
  • Proficient reconciliation abilities.
  • Capability to meet stringent deadlines while managing high transaction volumes.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced data entry proficiency.
  • Competent in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Strong Excel skills, including proficiency with pivot tables, lookup formulas, and basic formulas.
  • Experience with basic user templates in Excel is preferred.
  • Familiarity with VBA macros in Excel is an advantage.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

An Associate Degree in a relevant field is preferred, along with a minimum of one year of pertinent experience in cash application and managing critical deadlines in a dynamic environment. Relevant experience and training may substitute formal education when competency is demonstrated.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This role is conducted in an office environment with moderate noise levels from computers, printers, and personnel.
