Job Overview

The Deductions Analyst is tasked with overseeing and resolving customer deductions and disputes associated with accounts receivable. This role requires thorough analysis and investigation of discrepancies between invoices and payments, ensuring precise processing of deductions, and collaborating closely with customers and internal teams to address issues. This position is under the supervision of the Revenue Accounting Manager.

This role is based in our operational facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct timely research and resolution of customer deductions in alignment with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with procedures and prompt processing of credit memos, offset balances, repaid deductions, and other assigned tasks.
  • Verify that all deduction documentation is complete and adequate to support expense classification or recovery of invalid deductions.
  • Collaborate directly with Finance and Sales teams to gather additional information and documentation as needed.
  • Engage with customers as assigned.
  • Review and process customer deductions, effectively analyzing them to identify root causes and working with cross-functional teams to mitigate recurring deductions.
  • Assist with various ad hoc requests to balance the workload for the overall team.
  • Exhibit effective and professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a customer service-oriented approach.
  • Possess the ability to quickly adapt and learn new tasks independently.

Required Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in accounts receivable, cash application, or a comparable role.
  • Proficient in Excel, including formulas and pivot tables.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Experience in retail environments is advantageous.
