Job Summary:
The Accounts Receivable Customer Support Specialist is responsible for managing incoming inquiries from patients, insurance representatives, and healthcare providers regarding hospital accounts. This role involves assisting with account-related questions, processing requests for account information, and ensuring accurate documentation in our electronic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to incoming calls in a timely manner, ensuring a high level of customer service.
  • Provide empathetic solutions to callers, actively listening and addressing their concerns with professionalism.
  • Process credit card payments and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Document all interactions clearly in the accounts receivable system.
  • Prepare and send account summaries or itemized statements upon request.
  • Work on assigned accounts efficiently to meet productivity targets.
  • Participate in training sessions as required.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in customer service, patient registration, or billing.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance processes is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Ability to interpret and discuss billing information with insurance representatives.
  • Understanding of general insurance protocols.
  • Experience with Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and adjustments.
  • Proficient in electronic filing and general computer skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet established productivity standards.
