Position Overview

We are in search of a dynamic Chief Chemistry Officer to spearhead our chemistry initiatives. This role presents a unique opportunity to establish and shape the chemistry function from its inception.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead interdisciplinary teams in drug discovery and development, guiding projects to the IND stage.
  • Build and manage a medicinal chemistry team, leveraging external partnerships to meet project objectives.
  • Formulate and execute strategies for discovering novel therapeutics, focusing on first-in-class targets and innovative therapeutic modalities.
  • Design high-quality small molecules, considering structure-based drug design, biological evaluations, and pharmacological properties.
  • Foster productive collaborations with internal and external stakeholders in chemistry, structural biology, pharmacology, and computational biology.
  • Develop and oversee the intellectual property strategy in collaboration with patent counsel.
  • Lead the preparation of scientific publications and regulatory submission content related to chemistry.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in Chemistry or a related field, with over 12 years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical sectors, demonstrating a strong background in medicinal chemistry and team leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in small molecule drug discovery and successful campaign management.
  • Experience with heterobifunctional molecules and molecular glues is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate lead identification to IND application.
  • Familiarity with biophysical characterization techniques and cGMP manufacturing guidelines.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in managing collaborations with academic and industrial partners.
  • Strategic thinker with strong multi-tasking abilities.
