The Opportunity
The Association of Academic Museums & Galleries (AAMG) is in search of a dynamic and visionary leader to steer the organization into its next chapter as its Chief Executive Officer.

Key Responsibilities
The Chief Executive Officer will be accountable for the strategic vision and overall management of a well-established organization, enhancing a culture of innovation, inclusivity, collaboration, teamwork, and philanthropy.

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the CEO will collaborate with the Board to formulate a strategic plan that aligns with the organization’s mission and objectives.

The CEO will oversee the organization and lead its professional staff and initiatives.

This position will act as an ambassador and representative for the organization and the field of academic museums and galleries, strengthening connections within the sector.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess five to ten years of progressively responsible experience in a museum or nonprofit arts organization, with a minimum of three to five years in a senior management role.

Expertise in museum management, arts administration, or related fields, complemented by an advanced degree or equivalent experience in Art History, Fine Arts, Education, Museum Studies, Nonprofit Management, or Business Administration is essential.

A demonstrated commitment to inclusion, equity, and diversity is crucial.

The ability to lead all organizational members with fairness, transparency, humility, and empathy is required.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position is competitive, reflecting internal equity and the individual experiences and qualifications of the selected candidate.

The compensation range for this role is $200,000-$250,000, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical coverage, a 401k match, and paid time off.

This position requires the selected candidate to reside in the area.
