Project Safety Manager

Western Partitions, Inc. (WPI) is a leading interior and exterior contracting firm in the Northwest, providing exceptional services for various construction projects. We are seeking a highly skilled Project Safety Coordinator to join our team.
Job SummaryThe Project Safety Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment on our projects. This role will involve administering the WPI Safety Program, facilitating safety training, and conducting incident investigations. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of EHS programs, practices, and regulations, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities- Administer the WPI Safety Program and ensure 100% compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Facilitate safety training and equipment training on projects, maintaining training records.
- Conduct incident investigations to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and share lessons learned.
- Foster a positive and injury-free work environment by developing relationships with office staff, project management, general contractors, subcontractors, and trade workers.
- Implement site-specific health and safety plans and assist project forepersons with high-risk activity identification and mitigation.
- Perform and document project safety audits, driving resolution of action items and ensuring compliance with EHS regulations.
- Facilitate work control permits and evaluation processes.
- Meet with GC Safety Managers to improve safety cultures and facilitate onsite drug and alcohol testing programs.
- Hold one of the following Board of Certified Safety Professionals designations: CST, CHST, OHST, STS-C, ASP.
- Have a minimum of three years of qualified project safety experience on similarly sized projects with similar type construction.
- Have a thorough understanding of EHS programs, practices, and regulations.
- Be able to prioritize workload, recognize priority conflicts, and seek guidance for resolution.
- Hold a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Have strong oral and written communication skills, ability to work in a team environment, and provide excellent customer service.
- Be able to multitask, think critically, and problem-solve.
- Be able to work independently, make decisions, and follow through on assignments.
