Position Overview
As a Lead Research Scientist in the Aging Studies division at the University of California, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our understanding of aging processes through innovative research methodologies.

Role Summary

In this position, you will be tasked with delivering scientific and technical proficiency in laboratory settings. Your expertise will be essential in executing interdisciplinary projects focused on aging models and microbiome interactions.

The ideal candidate will independently design and implement experiments, manage cell cultures, organoid systems, and anaerobic microbiome environments, while applying advanced aging techniques. You will also conduct gene expression studies and perform data analysis and visualization.

This role requires full-time onsite presence, emphasizing collaboration with bioinformatics teams to design experiments, interpret results, and contribute to scientific publications.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and oversee wet lab experiments with precision.
  • Perform data analysis and create visual representations of findings.
  • Contribute to the writing and publication of scientific literature.
  • Present research outcomes to the scientific community.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Biological Sciences or a related discipline.
  • Experience in coding and data visualization.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant post-graduate experience.
  • Strong collaborative skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Proven track record in writing and presenting scientific research.
  • Experience with cell culture techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of bioinformatics for next-generation sequencing analysis.

  • Solid foundation in immunology.
  • Proficiency in R and/or Python programming.
