L.A. Stevens & Associates, Inc. is a well-established professional Land Surveying firm serving clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area for nearly three decades. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced California Licensed Land Surveyor (PLS / Survey Party Chief) to join our team as a Project Surveyor.

As a Project Surveyor, you will play a vital role in delivering accurate and timely land surveying services to our diverse clientele. You will be responsible for managing various projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to industry standards and client specifications.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough research, fieldwork, and office work to complete assigned projects.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, responsibility, and a strong work ethic, with the ability to lead and mentor team members.
  • Collaborate closely with the Principal Land Surveyor overseeing your projects, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals.
  • Contribute to a wide range of surveying projects, including boundary surveys, land title surveys (ALTA), topographic mapping, least squares adjustments, monitoring, forensic investigations, GPS applications, elevation certificates, map preparation, legal descriptions, and construction staking.
Requirements:
  • Possess the physical ability to lift loads exceeding 40 pounds and work safely in environments potentially containing poison oak.
  • Maintain a clean driving record as reported by the Department of Motor Vehicles, as you will be operating company vehicles.
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in boundary disputes and possess the skills to locate and document historical boundary evidence for litigation purposes.
  • Be flexible and willing to work overtime when project demands require it.
Skills:
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Mastery of MS Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Clear hearing and speech abilities for effective communication in person, over the telephone, or via two-way radio.
