JOB SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of this role is to procure high-quality products in a timely manner and at competitive prices, ensuring the company's growth and maintenance of sales and profit margins. This includes working exclusively with fully approved vendors and adhering to corporate contracts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze item movement to identify purchasing requirements, create purchase orders, and verify order confirmations.
  • Conduct daily physical inventory assessments, focusing on critical and sensitive items.
  • Promptly manage all credits and returns to minimize losses.
  • Collaborate with the pricing department, vendors, and corporate to ensure accurate pricing on all purchase orders.
  • Work with the transportation team to enhance profitability.
  • Coordinate with sales to optimize the timely use of all inventories, increase inventory turnover, and reduce shrinkage.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on all item maintenance, including country of origin and local regulations.


QUALIFICATIONS
Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: College degree.

Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of purchasing experience in a similar field or within a retail, wholesale, or distribution environment.

Professional Skills

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and typing at a minimum of 30 words per minute.
  • Ability to determine optimal inventory levels, which can represent significant monetary value.
  • Skills in product rejection, management of problematic items, and substituting products when stock is low.
