JOB SUMMARY

The primary objective is to procure high-quality products in a timely manner and at competitive prices to support the growth and sustainability of sales and profit margins. This role involves engaging exclusively with fully approved vendors and adhering to corporate contracts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze item movement to assess purchasing requirements, create purchase orders, and verify purchase order confirmations.
  • Conduct daily physical inventory assessments, focusing on critical and sensitive items.
  • Manage all credits and returns efficiently to minimize losses.
  • Collaborate with the pricing department, vendors, and corporate to ensure accurate pricing on all purchase orders.
  • Work alongside the Transportation team to enhance profitability.
  • Coordinate with Sales to optimize the timely use of all inventories, increase inventory turnover, and reduce shrinkage.
  • Ensure accuracy and maintain up-to-date records on all item management, including country of origin and local regulations.


QUALIFICATIONS
Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: College degree.

Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of purchasing experience in a similar field or within a retail, wholesale, or distribution environment.

Professional Skills

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and typing at a minimum of 30 words per minute.
  • Ability to determine optimal inventory levels for various items, which can represent significant monetary value.
  • Skills in product rejection, safeguarding troubled products, and substituting items when stock is low.
