JOB SUMMARY

The primary objective is to procure high-quality products in a timely manner at competitive pricing, ensuring the company's growth and maintenance of sales and profit margins. This role requires adherence to corporate vendor approvals and compliance with corporate contracts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze item movement to assess purchasing requirements, generate purchase orders, and verify order confirmations.
  • Conduct daily physical inventory assessments with a focus on critical items.
  • Manage all returns and credits efficiently to minimize losses.
  • Collaborate with the pricing department, vendors, and corporate to ensure accurate pricing on all purchase orders.
  • Coordinate with the Transportation department to enhance profitability.
  • Work closely with Sales to optimize inventory utilization, increase turnover rates, and reduce shrinkage.
  • Ensure accuracy and currency of all item maintenance, including COO and local regulations.


QUALIFICATIONS
Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: College degree.

Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of purchasing experience in a related field or within a retail, wholesale, or distribution setting.

Professional Skills

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and typing at a minimum of 30 words per minute.
  • Ability to determine optimal inventory levels, which can represent significant monetary value.
  • Skills in product rejection, safeguarding problematic items, and managing inventory shortages.
