Commissions Accounting Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Payroll department to ensure consistent processes for assigning employees to commission-eligible positions at the appropriate costing locations.
  • Develop and maintain monthly reconciliations that account for sales representative compensation, commissioned revenue, commission accruals, and expense allocations.
  • Assist Finance teams with quarterly reconciliations between revenue and commission expenses.
  • Establish and oversee a robust internal audit process for commission plan calculations on a monthly basis.
  • Coordinate with the Identity and Access team to ensure accurate establishment and transfer of sales representative numbers across various sales plans.
  • Manage the commission guarantee process to ensure accurate payments to sales representatives, either net of earned commissions or a fixed guarantee amount.
  • Oversee the month-end commission close process by validating payments, generating cross-departmental reports linked to results, and confirming approved commissions.
  • Analyze the weekly and monthly tasks of the Commission Support team for potential process enhancements.
  • Act as a liaison with the Accounting team to manage various audit controls effectively.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly control checks to validate the mechanics of the sales commission plan and the accuracy of payment automation calculations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, along with 3 to 5 years of relevant analytical experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills are required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with SQL and familiarity with data warehouses or data cubes is advantageous.
