Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Communications Manager to join our team at the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy to promote the Department's research, practice, and training initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a strategic communications plan to elevate the Department's visibility and build positive awareness of its research, practice, and training initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Committee and Department leadership to identify and pursue opportunities for recognition and media engagement.
  • Manage and maintain the Department's website, social media presence, and other digital communications channels.
  • Develop and implement content marketing strategies to promote the Department's successes and achievements.
  • Provide writing, editing, and design support for a variety of communications products, including reports, web pages, op-eds, and media releases.
  • Work with School-level communications teams to amplify messaging and project successes.
  • Manage media interview requests for Department faculty and develop innovative and compelling content for multimedia materials.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Five years of related experience.
  • Strong writing, research, and editing skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in developing and implementing strategic goals.
  • Experience with social media, website maintenance, and content marketing best practices.
  • Strong working knowledge of graphic design and search engine optimization.
