JOB SUMMARY:

The Assembler I position involves performing essential tasks associated with assembly operations, while also being prepared for additional responsibilities as outlined in the Essential Job Functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as an on-the-job trainer for machinery and assembly stations.
  • Act as a backup for the Area Lead when necessary.
  • Provide support as a backup for Material Handlers.
  • Uphold cleanliness and organization standards consistently.
  • Execute tasks related to sanding, polishing, cleaning, assembly, and packing as assigned.
  • Adapt to various packing and assembly tasks, including but not limited to Camshelving, Bus Box, Coldfest, All Structural Web items, and Dishrack.
  • Operate required assembly machinery with appropriate training.
  • Read and adhere to assembly schedules, create tickets, and generate labels.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance, demonstrating punctuality and dependability to meet departmental and organizational needs.
  • Successfully complete each essential duty to ensure job performance meets expectations.
  • Comply with all safety protocols in the work area, utilize personal protective equipment as necessary, attend safety meetings, and report any safety concerns regarding equipment or hazardous conditions.
  • Collaborate effectively as a team member, fostering a respectful environment and being open to feedback.
  • Take responsibility for personal work and actions, encouraging solutions and providing updates on work status.
  • Adhere to departmental quality standards and promptly raise any concerns to the immediate supervisor.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Cambro's company culture and core values, including Safety, Quality, Respect, and Service.
  • Recognize and contribute to the department's key performance indicators, both individually and as part of a team.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • This role does not include supervisory responsibilities.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and adapt to potential schedule changes is essential to meet business demands.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting safety regulations, operational instructions, and procedural manuals. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
  • Competent in basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • A collaborative team player who is self-motivated and adaptable. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality standards and quickly adjusting to new tasks.
