The Assembler I position entails executing the essential responsibilities associated with assembly tasks while adhering to the company's operational standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as a capable on-the-job trainer for machinery and assembly stations.
- Serve as a trained backup for the Area Lead.
- Function as a trained backup for the Material Handler.
- Uphold cleanliness and organization standards consistently.
- Conduct sanding, polishing, cleaning, assembly, and packing tasks as assigned.
- Exhibit flexibility to engage in various packing and assembly operations, including but not limited to Camshelving, Bus Box, Coldfest, All Structural Web items, and Dishrack.
- Operate essential assembly machinery with appropriate training.
- Read and adhere to the assembly schedule, prepare tickets, and generate labels.
- Maintain reliable attendance, demonstrating punctuality and dependability to fulfill departmental and organizational needs.
- Successfully execute each essential duty to meet job performance standards.
- Comply with all safety protocols in the work area, utilize personal protective equipment as necessary, attend safety meetings, and report any safety concerns regarding equipment or hazardous conditions.
- Collaborate effectively as a team member, demonstrating respect and openness to feedback.
- Take ownership of personal work and behavior, accepting accountability for actions and encouraging solutions.
- Adhere to departmental quality standards and promptly raise concerns to management.
- Understand and embody Cambro's company culture, reflecting core values of Safety, Quality, Respect, and Service.
- Recognize departmental key performance indicators and contribute to achieving these goals both individually and collaboratively.
- Perform additional duties as required.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- This role does not entail supervisory responsibilities.
- Willingness to work overtime as necessary and remain adaptable to potential schedule changes to meet business demands.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Relevant work experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety guidelines, operational instructions, and procedural manuals. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in basic mathematical operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Must be a collaborative team player, self-motivated, and open-minded. Capable of working with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality work standards and adapting quickly to new projects.
