This position reports to
Production Supervisor
Your responsibilities include:
• Assembling various production components, including fabricated metal products and electrical equipment, following detailed instructions.
• Interpreting blueprints, schematics, and similar documents to construct products according to specified standards.
• Operating a range of machinery and hand tools to complete assigned tasks effectively.
• Keeping accurate logs, records, and reports related to production activities, machine upkeep, and product discrepancies.
• Performing routine maintenance on equipment and conveyors, including basic repairs as necessary.
• Managing inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; coordinating with materials handlers when additional resources are required.
• Conducting periodic quality checks on products in accordance with company policies to ensure consistency and resolve any issues identified, notifying the supervisor as needed.
• Executing other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications for the role:
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Legal authorization to work in the US is essential.
- Proficiency in using tools such as tape measures, screwdrivers, and battery-operated devices.
- Familiarity with hardware components including nuts, bolts, and screws.
- Understanding of the 5S methodology - sort, set, shine, standardize, and sustain.
- Knowledge of and ability to utilize necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Capability to read and interpret engineering specifications, connection diagrams, bill of materials, and standard assembly drawings.
- Ability to operate cranes or other lifting devices as required.
- Competence in using hand tools effectively.
- Ability to safely use ladders when necessary during job performance.
- Physical capability to lift, push, and pull weights up to 40lbs.
- Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
- Ability to apply common sense to follow simple or basic instructions.
- Basic computer skills for looking up parts based on bills of materials.
- Fundamental mathematical skills.
- Basic communication skills.
- Hand-eye coordination and the ability to use both hands effectively.
- A minimum of 18 months of relevant industry experience, including:
- o Reading and interpreting electrical schematics.
- o Constructing equipment using assembly drawings.
- o Understanding bills of materials.
- o Identifying parts from technical drawings.
- A minimum of 18 months of prior experience in manufacturing or field services related to electrical distribution equipment, including:
- Switchgear (480 V to 27kV).
- Switchboards or Panelboards.
- Motor control centers.
- Transformers.
- Load interrupter switches.
- Busway.
