Position Summary

We are currently seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. This role involves the installation and maintenance of fire alarm systems across various sectors, including commercial and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, efficiency, and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and installation of fire alarm systems and associated devices in compliance with industry regulations.
  • Interpret and analyze project documentation and work orders to ensure clarity on the scope of work required for inspections.
  • Communicate any issues or concerns regarding assigned projects to the project coordinator.
  • Develop expertise in integrating fire alarm systems with HVAC controls, smoke management systems, and other safety mechanisms.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of fire alarm protection principles and the operational specifics of suppression systems.
  • Arrive at job sites equipped with necessary testing tools, including multi-meters and hand tools.
  • Read and interpret technical blueprints, diagrams, and operation manuals as per training received.
  • Complete necessary paperwork for customer service activities and ensure timely submission of documentation for project records.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding services performed and adhere to all safety protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; a technical degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • NICET II certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in the installation of low voltage systems, including fire and life safety systems.
  • Familiarity with testing equipment such as multi-meters and digital analyzers.
  • Understanding of electrical principles, including Ohm's law and circuit analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the capability to work with diverse teams.
  • Experience in commercial construction environments is essential.
  • Personal hand tools are required for this position.
