Position Summary

We are currently seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician to oversee the installation and maintenance of fire alarm systems across a variety of projects, including both industrial and commercial sectors. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, efficiency, and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and installation of fire alarm systems and associated devices, adhering to industry standards.
  • Interpret and understand project documentation and work orders, ensuring clarity on the scope of work required for inspections.
  • Communicate any issues or concerns regarding assigned projects to the Coordinator promptly.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of integrating fire alarm systems with HVAC controls, smoke management systems, and other related technologies.
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of fire alarm protection principles and the operation of suppression systems, ensuring safety during inspections and maintenance.
  • Arrive at assignments equipped with necessary testing tools, including multi-meters and hand tools.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and operational manuals relevant to the role.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork for customer service activities and ensure timely submission of documentation for record-keeping.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding services performed and other sensitive information.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; a technical degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • NICET II certification is encouraged but not mandatory.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in the installation of low voltage systems, including fire and life safety systems.
  • Familiarity with test equipment such as multi-meters and digital analyzers is essential.
  • Understanding of electrical principles, including Ohm's law and AC/DC circuits.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and handle stressful situations with composure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Experience in commercial construction environments is required, with the ability to work independently.
  • Personal hand tools must be provided by the technician.
