Job Summary

Under the direction of the Department of Engineering and/or the Chief Engineer, the General Maintenance Tech Lead oversees the repair and maintenance of all Carillon Hotel facilities. This role involves performing preventive maintenance work that may require the use and operation of complex and highly technical equipment and techniques. The ideal candidate will possess sound decision-making skills and serve as a role model in productivity and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead Crew Members: Direct and supervise crew members in the repairs and maintenance of the Engineering department and its facilities, equipment, and devices.
  2. Preventive Maintenance: Complete scheduled preventive maintenance work, including monitoring, control, and performance of all systems. Identify and address any issues or concerns.
  3. Training and Development: Train other maintenance staff members in the proper performance of preventive maintenance tasks.
  4. Departmental Role Model: Serve as a departmental role model or mentor by working alongside employees to perform technical or functional job duties.
  5. Goal Setting and Communication: Assist management in establishing and communicating goals, performance expectations, timetables, and deadlines for shift or departmental operations to non-exempt staff.
  6. Work Planning and Execution: Assist in planning, execution, and quality control of work assigned to the Facilities Maintenance team.
  7. Staff Management: Assist management in the selection, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating staff members toward the attainment of reasonable work goals.
  8. Communication and Documentation: Maintain open and professional communication between management and staff. Document all activities, work, actions, and time in writing on a daily basis.
  9. Work Order System: Support the HotSOS work order system in implementation and adherence, including prioritization of assigned work. Originate work orders to remedy problems and/or faulty conditions and ensure the quality and timeliness of remedial work.
  10. Interdepartmental Coordination: Coordinate tasks and work with other departments to ensure efficient departmental operations.
  11. Resource Management: Assist management in ensuring that staff members have the necessary resources to effectively perform their duties.
  12. Inventory Management: Maintain a working parts inventory of all parts needed for the department.
  13. Vendor Management: Maintain knowledge of vendor and pricing policies and procedures.
  14. Tool Inventory Management: Maintain and control the Tool Inventory, including proper securing, storage, and training in the proper use and function of tools.
  15. Safety and Security: Personally comply and teach compliance to co-workers regarding Federal, State, Local, Hotel, and Departmental Safety Regulations and Procedures. Adhere to the Carillon Engineering Lock and Key policies and procedures.
  16. Emergency Preparedness: Promote guest, patron, owner, and employee safety and security through strict adherence to Engineering Security and Safety policies and procedures. Eliminate hazards and/or safety violations. Know and be able to teach the proper shutdown and start-up procedures for all utilities.
  17. Emergency Equipment Knowledge: Be knowledgeable of all major and emergency equipment locations and their functions, including Life and Property systems.
  18. Hazard Communication: Support the facility's Hazard Communication Program, including a thorough knowledge of SDS, product labeling, storing, and handling of materials.
  19. PPE Management: Responsible for PPE use and daily maintenance.
  20. Company Policies: Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; and complete safety training and certifications.
  21. Service Standards: Set an example in fulfilling Carillon PJICAAN Service Standards for service to guests, patrons, and owners.
  22. Confidentiality and Communication: Comply with all Departmental rules, regulations, standards, dress code, and appearance. Review all staff and department bulletin boards and strictly adhere to Carillon policies and procedures regarding confidentiality and communication of information.
  23. Additional Duties: Perform other job-related duties as directed.
