Responsibilities:

* Provide accurate and complete records of trial proceedings, hearings, depositions, and meetings
* Participate in planning programs, policies, and objectives for the work group and department
* Listen to and record proceedings, dialogue, or dictation of reports, correspondence, and other matters
* Transcribe recorded material into readable format
* Read portions of transcript aloud when requested
* Participate in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by county managers

Qualifications:

* High School Diploma/GED
* Certified by the State of Texas as a Court Reporter
* 10 years experience as a freelance or court reporter
* Familiarity with Computer Aided Transcription (CAT)
* Ability to provide equipment necessary to provide "real time" reporting
