Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Manager to lead our Systems Engineering team. As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for planning, budgeting, and managing system modification management efforts and studies for the section. You will also develop and implement engineering policies that enable the section and branch to comply with high-level requirements and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, budget, and manage system modification management efforts and studies for the section.
  • Develop and implement engineering policies that enable the section and branch to comply with high-level requirements and guidelines.
  • Provide systems engineering support for problem investigation and performance evaluation activities pertaining to the CPS Weapon System.
  • Plan, budget, and manage missile and weapon system advanced development efforts and studies for the Branch.
  • Develop system engineering policies that enable the branch to comply with high-level technical guidelines and validate requirements flow down.
  • Assure safety and establish safety requirements in the basic technical requirements documents.
  • Conduct or direct safety engineering reviews and monitor design of the weapon system to assure operational safety.
  • Use systems engineering modeling and simulation tools to support concept studies, system requirements development, design, analysis, verification, validation, test, and evaluation, and life-cycle sustainment and support.
  • Assist with developing and implementing initiatives to transform the workforce to adopt and support digital engineering across the program lifecycle.
  • Coordinate team activities, progress, and scheduling to ensure successful project performance.
Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
  • Must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications

One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 (GS-13 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Leading the development and managing the implementation of studies and strategies for effective systems engineering program execution.

Examples of experience may include:

  • Experience with system engineering in a program office setting.
  • Experience with budgeting or task planning.
  • Experience leading teams.
  • Experience managing a contract.
