About the Role

Arcmed is seeking a highly skilled Product Design Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing, researching, prototyping, and engineering documentation for pumps and valves.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, research, and develop new products and technologies related to pumps and valves.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design requirements are met.
  • Project manage new products through the design transfer process.
  • Design, build, and test prototypes.
  • Manage vendors and suppliers throughout the development process.
  • Conduct cost estimating and analysis at multiple stages of the design transfer process.
  • Work closely with sales and customer engineering teams to strengthen relationships and drive business growth.
  • Contribute to market research and development through trade associations, networking, and corporate services.
  • Design and perform experiments in a research lab, presenting results to cross-functional teams.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of mechanical design experience with high precision fluidics.
  • Experience with fluidic systems, pumps, valves, and manifolds.
  • Preferred experience in the medical device industry.
  • DFA/DFM experience.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes, injection molding, and machining.
  • Strong analysis skills (FEA, CFD).
  • Strong understanding of materials, material compatibility, and plastics.
  • Thorough understanding of GD&T and AMSE Y14.5M.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving and analysis skills (A3, 8D, Six Sigma, KT, Shainin).
  • Ability to manage complexity and resolve conflicts.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and standards.
  • Desire to improve business processes and drive innovation.
Education and Experience
  • BS, MS, or PhD degree in Engineering.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience.
  • Project management and leadership skills.
  • Technical knowledge and experience with fluid systems.
  • 3D CAD experience with Solidworks or similar.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry (FDA, FAA, etc.).
