Position: Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician
Location: Boonton, NJ
Pay: $17.50
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Position Overview: This role involves the intricate assembly of diverse products, adhering to mechanical schematics or operational guidelines. The technician will engage in precise fitting, adjustment, and alignment of various components that require meticulous tolerances and interrelated factors. Utilizing hand tools and machinery, the technician will execute tasks in accordance with schedules set by management and production systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble and/or wire complex machinery following blueprints and technical specifications, necessitating skilled adjustments and alignments within strict tolerances.
  • Adhere to work cell protocols or mechanical diagrams and product structures.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain basic production equipment such as component engravers, presses, crimpers, riveting, or encapsulation machines.
  • Conduct various operations on products both within and outside the designated department.
  • Utilize hand and power tools as necessary.
  • Construct harness assemblies.
  • Employ computers to track and report job status and component availability, and access technical documents or operational instructions from systems, inputting data into Excel or SAP databases.
  • May engage in thru-hole PCB assembly.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Aim to meet established quality standards in an ISO-certified environment.
  • Adhere to proper PPE usage to foster a safe working environment and implement 5S practices to maintain a clean, hazard-free, and efficient workspace.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • 1-3 years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly or mechanical assembly with knowledge of electronic/electrical safety.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and schematics; capable of identifying appropriate components and color codes.
  • High standards of workmanship.
  • Strong verbal communication abilities.
