Position Overview:
The Refrigeration Systems Specialist will oversee the design and development of innovative, retail-focused refrigerated display solutions from initial concept through to final implementation. This role will involve leading and mentoring design and development teams while providing expert technical support to both internal and external partners regarding all products designed or manufactured by EMI Industries. Additionally, the specialist will collaborate with designated external manufacturers to ensure comprehensive technical knowledge is disseminated throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory standards by confirming that both personnel and products are appropriately qualified, accredited, and registered to the highest applicable standards both domestically and internationally.
  • Focus on product design and re-design initiatives that prioritize energy efficiency and implement industry-leading best practices at every opportunity.
  • Manage the ongoing development of technical support documentation.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of client specifications, ensuring best practices are followed and providing guidance where specifications are lacking.
  • Conduct periodic design reviews on a selective national basis to verify compliance with established standards and procedures.
  • Offer technical expertise and support to various teams.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance personnel to ensure adherence to relevant procedures.
  • Address escalated issues that cannot be resolved at the local level, directing them to the appropriate Production Manager.
  • Uphold cleanliness and safety standards in the designated work area.
  • Provide support to other departments as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by management.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned to meet business objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of DOE regulations.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional time management and organizational capabilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and vendors.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary for plant visits or customer engagements.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Production, or Electrical Engineering, or extensive experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.
