About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Cybersecurity Operations Assistant to join our team at Indiana University. As a key member of our security operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our information technology environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Incident Response: Provide timely and effective response to cybersecurity incidents, including triage, analysis, and resolution.
  • Security Consulting: Offer limited security consulting services to the IU community, providing guidance on security best practices and procedures.
  • Communication: Communicate with the IU community regarding security-related matters, including network block resolutions, abuse/misuse incidents, and copyright violations.
  • Documentation: Update technical documentation for internal and public consumption, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Requirements
  • Education: Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University.
  • Experience: Customer service experience and technical skills relevant to modern office work environments.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to effectively communicate with diverse individuals.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around and office environment.
