Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Officer to join our team at Ochsner LSU Health System of North Louisiana. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our patients, guests, and employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce all company safety and security rules, regulations, and policies on company property.
  • Conduct routine inspections of on-site and off-site locations of the company.
  • Investigate accidents and other incidents which are assigned and report all occurrences in a timely manner.
  • Perform opening/lockdown of all buildings as approved by Administration and performs other safety and security related duties as assigned.
  • Participate in emergency response and related preparedness drills.
  • Maintain required annual certifications and completes training requirements within required time periods.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in Security, law enforcement, or military.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Valid driver's license in the state of practice and clean DMV report.
  • Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI), and firearms training.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
  • Proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individual.
Work Environment

The incumbent works with patients who have known or suspected communicable diseases and may enter isolation rooms. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.

The incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste.

The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
