Job Description

The Business Development Manager for Life Science Optics is responsible for driving revenue growth in the Life Science Optics relevant components business and providing strategic feedback to the Edmund Optics product and engineering teams on how to expand the Life Science Optics offering and capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute business plans related to Life Science Optics product growth and development efforts.
  • Network with industry leaders, research industry events, and publications to align product development with customer needs.
  • Partner with business line leads and product line managers to identify and distill product and technology trends within Life Science Optics and its enabled applications.
  • Represent Edmund Optics at major industry events and congresses.
  • Develop strategic positioning by understanding Life Science customer needs, goals, and risk profiles, and their fit within Edmund Optics' value proposition.
  • Monitor and manage the funnel of opportunities for Life Science Optics.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, or related technical field.
  • Minimum seven (7+) years of photonics industry experience.
  • Proven record of identifying opportunities leading to Life Science Optics related business.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and creative thinking capabilities.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% nationwide on a regular basis.
