Nurse Residency Program: Labor and Delivery Track

We are seeking highly motivated and dedicated nursing professionals to join our Labor and Delivery Nurse Residency Program at ChristianaCare. This 26-week program is designed to provide a smooth transition into the L&D RN role for those candidates who qualify.
Program OverviewThe Labor & Delivery Nurse Residency Program is a challenging and rewarding experience that integrates educational components with preceptor-led clinical experiences in 4 areas of the Labor & Delivery unit. These areas include Labor & Delivery, Peri Op, OB High Risk, and Antenatal.
Requirements- Graduating from an accredited nursing school before June 2025 (BSN preferred)
- BLS required
- Less than 12 months experience from the program's start date
- Delaware or Compact State licensure as a Registered Nurse
Upon successful program completion, participants will be hired as a staff nurse within the Labor and Delivery unit at ChristianaCare. Nurse residents are required to pass State Boards and be licensed as a RN in the State of Delaware (or compact state) prior to starting position. A commitment agreement to work at ChristianaCare will be signed, requiring completion of two years within ChristianaCare and 15 months of those two years on the unit of hire. Individuals unable to fill this commitment will be charged $10,000.

Two clinical recommendations will be required, but not at the time of the application. If it is determined the minimum qualifications are met, a separate email will be sent from an outside vendor for you to provide us with your clinical instructors' information.
Next StepsCommunication from Talent Acquisition Team about specific next steps including video interview and clinical references. Applications will be sent for review by residency coordinators on December 27th. All tasks (SkillSurvey and HireVue) must be completed BEFORE December 27th in order to be considered. Digital real-time interviews will begin the second week of February 2025. Offers will be made beginning March 2025.
