Role Overview:

The Project Manager 1 plays a crucial role in the overall planning, scheduling, resource management, financial oversight, and conceptual development of construction projects. This position also involves providing technical guidance and ensuring adherence to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define project objectives, timelines, and performance criteria while selecting appropriate project participants.
  • Optimize resource utilization – including labor, materials, and equipment – while ensuring cost-effective procurement.
  • Implement various operations through effective coordination.
  • Establish robust communication channels to prevent and resolve conflicts among project participants.
  • Oversee the execution of multi-site construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Play a pivotal role in project planning, budgeting, and resource identification.
  • Form teams, set objectives/goals, and assign individual responsibilities.
  • Manage project accounting tasks, including budget oversight, expense tracking, and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure construction activities adhere to the established schedule.
  • Develop project work plans and make necessary adjustments as required.
  • Maintain effective communication with contractors responsible for various project phases.
  • Coordinate efforts among all parties involved, including architects, consultants, contractors, sub-contractors, and company personnel.
  • Regularly monitor construction progress and conduct status meetings with all sub-teams.
  • Uphold strict compliance with budgetary constraints, quality, and safety standards.
  • Ensure completeness of project documentation.
  • Identify potential design and construction elements that may lead to disputes and claims.
  • Act as a key liaison with clients and review deliverables prepared by the team before submission.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience in commercial construction (renovations, tenant improvements, etc.) within sectors such as big box retail and quick-service restaurants.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Knowledge and experience in trades such as carpentry, electrical work, painting, and plumbing.
  • Ability to manage multiple sites, crews, and teams simultaneously.
  • A four-year degree in civil engineering; a postgraduate degree in construction management is a plus.

Work Schedule and Travel:

This role requires travel to various job sites nationwide based on active projects, which may involve extended periods away from home.
