JOB SUMMARY:

The role of a Commercial Banker is pivotal in fostering connections between entrepreneurs and community influencers to stimulate growth and economic development. Collaborate with various business units to ensure the effective management and development of the client's comprehensive relationship with Seacoast Bank. Assess, analyze, authorize, and recommend the approval of customer applications for commercial financing. Oversee regional credit matters, including portfolio management and sales initiatives. Engage actively within the community to support and promote the bank's interests. Accountable for overall profitability and achieving sales objectives across all product offerings. Consistently earns the trust and confidence of clients through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in business development, analytics, and diagnosis gained through commercial lending and portfolio management.
  • At least 2 years of experience in financial services within related business lines that fostered business client relationships, including Treasury Management, Wealth Management, and Consumer Banking.
  • Proven track record of building relationships with business, civic, and governmental entities, with a well-established presence in the market.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Address the financial service needs of customers.
    • Conduct interviews with customers and prospects to gather information regarding their business or personal financial needs, aspirations, capabilities, and income to formulate appropriate strategies or financial services.
    • Make lending decisions within established limits or recommend significant loans to the Commercial Banking Executive.
    • Refer business to other officers as necessary to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Responsible for developing and sustaining a portfolio of business clients.
  • Actively collaborates with Line of Business Partners to identify referral opportunities to enhance and deepen existing customer relationships.
  • Works in conjunction with Line of Business Partners to promote and position the Bank within the community.
  • Takes full responsibility for the ongoing monitoring of all assigned accounts in relation to standard portfolio management, which includes but is not limited to:
    • Maintaining an understanding of changes in the loan risk profile.
    • Monitoring compliance of borrowers with loan agreements.
    • Timely acquisition and review of necessary documentation or reports.
    • Overseeing loan payments.
    • Conducting annual reviews regularly.
  • Analyzes industrial, commercial, and financial conditions related to both new and existing businesses.
  • Identifies and reports problematic credits to the director or manager.
  • Coordinates the administration of problem loans with the Commercial Banking Director or Manager, Line of Business Executive, or Special Assets Administrator.
  • Adheres to the highest legal and ethical standards applicable to the industry and Seacoast Bank's Code of Conduct, while complying with all government regulations and bank policies.
  • Ensures compliance with AML/BSA requirements, audit protocols, dual control, security measures, Business Continuity, and all other regulated banking standards.
  • Upholds Seacoast Bank's Code of Conduct.
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
