JOB SUMMARY:

The primary role of a Commercial Banker is to utilize their expertise and enthusiasm in connecting entrepreneurs and community stakeholders to foster growth and economic development. Assess, analyze, authorize, and recommend approval of client applications for commercial financing. Oversee regional credit matters, including portfolio management and sales initiatives. Actively participate in community engagement to support and promote the bank's mission. Accountable for overall profitability and meeting sales objectives across all service lines. Consistently earns the trust and confidence of clients through transparency, integrity, and authenticity.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in business development, analytics, and diagnostics acquired through commercial lending and portfolio oversight.
  • 2+ years of experience in financial services related to business client relationships, including Treasury Management, Wealth Management, and Consumer Banking.
  • Proven track record of building relationships with business, civic, and governmental entities, with an established presence in the market.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Address the financial service needs of clients.
    • Conduct interviews with clients and prospects to gather information regarding their business or personal requirements, aspirations, capabilities, and income to formulate appropriate financial strategies.
    • Make decisions on loans and terms within established lending limits or recommend significant loans to the Commercial Banking Executive.
    • Refer business to other officers as necessary to fulfill client needs.
  • Responsible for developing and sustaining a portfolio of business clients.
  • Engage proactively with Line of Business Partners to identify referral opportunities to enhance and deepen existing client relationships.
  • Collaborate with Line of Business Partners to promote and position the Bank within the community.
  • Assume full responsibility for ongoing monitoring of all assigned accounts concerning standard portfolio management, which includes, but is not limited to:
    • Continuous assessment of changes in loan risk profiles.
    • Monitoring compliance of borrowers with loan agreements.
    • Timely acquisition and review of necessary documentation or reports.
    • Oversight of loan payments.
    • Conducting annual reviews regularly.
  • Analyze industrial, commercial, and financial conditions related to new and existing businesses.
  • Identify and report problematic credits to the director or manager.
  • Coordinate problem loan management with the Commercial Banking Director or Manager, Line of Business Executive, or Special Assets Administrator.
  • Adhere to the highest legal and ethical standards applicable to our industry and to Seacoast Bank's Code of Conduct, while complying with all government regulations and bank policies.
  • Ensure compliance with AML/BSA requirements, audit protocols, dual control, security measures, Business Continuity, and all other regulatory banking standards.
  • Uphold Seacoast Bank's Code of Conduct.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
