Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our team at 22nd Century Technologies. As a Patient Services Representative, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, scheduling appointments, and collecting accurate patient demographic and financial information.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greets patients and schedules appointments for visits, procedures, diagnostic tests, referrals, and consultations.
  • Registers patients and confirms, enters, and/or updates all required demographic data on patient and guarantor on registration system.
  • Obtains copies of insurance cards, forms of ID, and signature(s) on all required forms.
  • Verifies insurance to determine coordination of benefits and obtains authorization and/or referrals as required.
  • Screens for non-covered services and waiver of liability (ABN) through automated screening at time of service.
  • Collects patient payments and provides accurate receipts.
  • Posts payments in system and reconciles receipts with cash collected.
  • Documents patient account notes for all interactions/transactions.
  • Maintains department and/or individual work queues and reports as required.
Requirements:
  • Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts is required.
  • Excellent customer service skills, in person and via telephone.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • One (1) year customer service experience is preferred.
  • One (1) year experience in related/medical field is preferred.
  • Understanding of Medical Terminology is preferred.
