Position Summary
The Fleet Operations Specialist within the Logistics division will oversee a substantial fleet of over 1,000 vehicles and manage an annual budget exceeding $100 million across our Supply Chain Centers in the U.S. and Canada. This role requires collaboration across various departments within the Domino's World Resource Center and on-site operations. The incumbent will engage with Continuous Improvement and Environment & Sustainability teams, as well as Supply Chain Directors and field personnel. This position serves as the primary liaison for current and prospective suppliers, ensuring adherence to performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Enhancements
- Develop and implement operational standards through strategic fleet and material handling equipment planning.
- Analyze and resolve practical transportation challenges.
- Collaborate with fleet vendors to devise maintenance and equipment solutions.
- Manage support activities, establish milestones, and track progress.
- Review and interpret safety regulations, operating procedures, and maintenance guidelines to enhance consistency across North American Supply Chain Centers.
- Present analytical findings to diverse stakeholders, including executive and operational leadership, utilizing effective communication strategies.
- Identify and monitor cost savings or avoidance measures.
- Investigate data variances to determine root causes of transportation issues.
- Advise centers and vendors on industry best practices.
- Evaluate transportation methods to identify cost-effective delivery solutions.
- Manage fleet vendor performance metrics.
- Lead initiatives to optimize fleet operations, focusing on increasing electric vehicle usage and meeting sustainability targets.
Special Projects
- Collaborate with Supply Chain teams on various projects and initiatives.
- Lead fleet and material handling equipment implementation for new supply chain centers.
- Conduct SWOT analyses to develop a Transportation Business Continuity Plan.
- Regularly update and maintain data to incorporate new factors.
- Initiate fleet specifications aimed at enhancing driver safety and reducing operational costs.
Business Relationship Management
- Work closely with Supply Chain IT to support WMS, TMS, and other system maintenance tasks.
- Conduct quarterly reviews of product traceability applications.
- Coordinate with leadership and finance to process invoices related to WMS, TMS, and fleet equipment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in fleet and logistics operations.
- At least 2 years of project management experience.
- Experience with routing and fleet telematics for 2+ years.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities in diverse settings.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel within the U.S. and Canada as necessary (15-25% travel required).
