Position Overview
The Fleet Operations Specialist for Logistics will play a crucial role within the Supply Chain OB Transportation team, overseeing a fleet of over 1,000 pieces of equipment and managing an expenditure of $100 million across Domino's Supply Chain Centers in the U.S. and Canada. This position will involve collaboration across various departments, including the Continuous Improvement group, Environment & Sustainability Group (ESG), Supply Chain Directors, and field team members. The specialist will serve as the primary liaison for current and prospective suppliers, ensuring adherence to performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Enhancements
- Formulate and implement operational enhancements and standards through strategic fleet and MHE planning.
- Analyze and resolve practical issues related to transportation.
- Collaborate with fleet vendors to develop solutions for equipment and maintenance.
- Oversee support activities, set milestones, and track progress.
- Interpret safety regulations, operational instructions, and procedural manuals to enhance consistency across North American Supply Chain Centers.
- Present findings and analyses to diverse stakeholders, including executive and operational leadership, using effective communication strategies.
- Identify and monitor actual cost savings or cost avoidance resulting from implemented strategies.
- Investigate data variances to determine root causes of transportation-related challenges.
- Advise centers and vendors on industry best practices.
- Evaluate transportation methods to identify the most cost-effective delivery solutions.
- Manage fleet vendor performance metrics.
- Lead initiatives to optimize fleet operations and increase electric vehicle usage in alignment with ESG targets.
Special Projects
- Engage in collaborative efforts with Supply Chain teams on various projects and initiatives.
- Act as the lead for fleet and MHE implementation in new supply chain centers.
- Conduct SWOT analyses to develop a Transportation Business Continuity Plan for consistency across the Supply Chain.
- Regularly update and maintain data to incorporate new factors.
- Initiate fleet specifications aimed at enhancing driver safety, operational uptime, and reducing costs.
Business Relationship Management
- Collaborate with Supply Chain IT to support WMS/Solochain/SAP/TMS maintenance and operations.
- Conduct quarterly reviews of WMS/TMS product traceability applications.
- Coordinate with leadership and Finance to manage invoices related to WMS, TMS, and fleet equipment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in fleet and logistics operations.
- At least 2 years of project management experience.
- 2+ years of experience with routing and fleet telematics.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities in diverse settings.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel across the U.S. and Canada as required (15-25%).
