Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the procurement of all materials essential for production operations.
  • Identify and resolve material-related issues, ensuring effective communication with internal stakeholders including Quality Assurance, Operations, Scheduling, Customer Service, and Finance.
  • Lead investigations into material discrepancies and manage related events.
  • Generate and issue purchase orders to suppliers in accordance with approved protocols, ensuring timely approvals.
  • Manage supplier lead times and expedite costs effectively.
  • Maintain a comprehensive tracker for order status, purchase order status, lead times, and receipt of goods.
  • Source new suppliers and vendors based on operational needs.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation for materials is received and compliant.
  • Monitor and adjust open purchase orders and supplier commitments to facilitate timely payments.
  • Request and acquire quotes for materials as needed.
  • Collaborate with Global Procurement for significant purchases, ensuring compliance with contracts and codes of conduct.
  • Support capital expenditure processes as required.
  • Conduct raw material planning for projects.
  • Maintain inventory levels in line with organizational policies and objectives.
  • Review and adjust safety stock levels based on inventory analysis.
  • Support new product launch activities as directed.
  • Analyze excess and obsolete inventory, providing data for potential customer reimbursements.
  • Monitor raw material inventory levels to meet organizational targets.
  • Process materials for destruction when obsolete or expired.
  • Prepare materials for shipment, including documentation for samples.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as life sciences, supply chain management, or business, or equivalent experience.
  • APICS Certification is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role, including production planning, inventory management, and procurement.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector or demonstrated knowledge of industry controls and requirements.
  • 1 year of experience with MRP systems is preferred.
