This role is tasked with conducting high-level analyses characterized by complexity and data proficiency. It involves evaluating a broad range of elements that influence organizational profitability, expansion, and operational efficiency, while supporting strategic initiatives to tackle identified challenges.
The analyst will review existing methodologies, gather pertinent information and industry insights, and formulate specifications to bolster business objectives. Additionally, this role is responsible for developing and executing process enhancements and may take on a leadership position within the team, leveraging expertise in the specialized area.
Responsibilities
This position is accountable for delivering reliable reporting and analytical solutions across various use cases for portfolio oversight and the identification of potential risks within Credit Administration.
The individual will collaborate with key stakeholders in Credit Administration and various internal departments (such as Business Units, Credit, Enterprise Risk Management, Credit Review, and Internal Audit) as well as external parties (including External Auditors and Regulators) to generate relevant and insightful analytical content, thereby equipping these stakeholders with a comprehensive understanding of the underlying business sectors.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Advising: Foster and cultivate a "trusted advisor" environment. Immerse oneself in the operations of the business segment to anticipate reporting and analytical requirements while providing valuable insights.
- Liaison: Act as a bridge between stakeholders and Business Intelligence & Risk Reporting to gather requirements, design, create, and refine reports and Tableau dashboards that meet stakeholder expectations.
- Reporting: Generate both ad-hoc and regular reports, presentation materials, and memos by identifying, analyzing, and interpreting intricate datasets; researching economic conditions and external factors; and integrating internal stress testing outcomes and analytics in a clear, concise manner to facilitate data-driven risk management decisions.
- Meetings and Presentations: Participate in various Credit Administration meetings to acquire relevant insights into emerging risks and modifications in credit appetites, policies, procedures, and standards.
- Growth and Improvement: Continuously enhance knowledge and skills related to analytical tools, techniques, and methodologies. Actively seek opportunities to improve existing analytical capabilities and develop new analyses and reporting to better support Credit Administration and the diverse Business Segments.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience in analytics, modeling, or reporting, or a High School Diploma/GED with at least 10 years of experience in analytics, modeling, or reporting.
Skill(s): Proficient in SAS applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, with experience in database management.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience in the Banking and Finance sector, particularly in credit analysis, underwriting, or credit risk management. Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams) and Business Intelligence software (Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, and SQL) is advantageous.
