Position: Certified Behavioral Analyst

Compensation Range: $76,905 - $92,286

We are seeking a Certified Behavioral Analyst who will offer expert consultation on behavioral strategies to clinical personnel, social workers, and teams within Community Services, Quality Assurance, and Vendorization Departments, supporting their ongoing mission to assist individuals with developmental disabilities.

This role operates under the direct guidance of the Director of Regional Center Services. The position entails overseeing and evaluating specialty group homes, including Enhanced Behavior Support Homes and Community Crisis Homes, covering aspects from program design approval to ongoing behavioral quality assurance and monitoring. The analyst will also provide expert advice on behavioral interventions to clinical staff and community service teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and authorize behavior plans created by service providers, and develop, conduct, or oversee training sessions and workshops tailored to community needs.
  • Collaborate with staff and service providers to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and perform quality assurance assessments related to client transitions.
  • Provide expert testimony at state-level hearings concerning behavioral health treatments as required.
  • Review, interpret, and disseminate information regarding the Lanterman Act and related regulations, including Title 17 and Title 22.
  • Engage in the evaluation of Requests for Proposals for behavioral services, contributing to discussions and providing technical assistance on quality assurance.
  • Assist the Community Services Unit in reviewing program designs for new behavioral services, including the professional qualifications of applicants.
  • Conduct monthly in-person quality assurance visits to Enhanced Behavioral Support Homes and Community Crisis Homes in accordance with regulations.
  • Participate in the Behavior Modification Review Committee to ensure that funded behavioral services do not inflict pain or trauma.
  • Compile data for and submit annual reports to the Department of Developmental Services regarding the licenses held by facilities implementing approved treatment plans.
  • Attend relevant meetings, prepare reports, and maintain records as per accepted professional standards.
  • Support the recruitment, training, and supervision of State Staff Contract for Psychiatric Technicians, and participate in quarterly meetings with other behavioral specialists across regional centers.
  • Engage in special projects and assist with additional responsibilities as assigned, including managing requests from social workers.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all information regarding individuals served, in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the California Lanterman Act.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Special Education, or a related field relevant to behavioral analysis.
  • Board Certification in Behavioral Analysis or the commitment to obtain certification within six months of hire.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in delivering behavioral management services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Experience in developing home, school, and community-based ABA programs.
  • Proficiency in writing and implementing ABA-based treatment plans.
