Position: Behavior Support Specialist
Location: Norco, CA

Forte Behavioral Health LLC is dedicated to creating positive transformations in the lives of children with developmental challenges. We are currently in search of empathetic and committed individuals who are enthusiastic about making a significant impact as a Behavior Support Specialist.

Compensation: $22 - $28 per hour, based on experience and education
Employment Type: Part-Time
Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday
Minimum Education: High School Diploma and/or some college coursework (preferred).

Essential Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Possession of a driver's license and reliable transportation is essential.
  • Strong command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and reading comprehension.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Outstanding organizational abilities.
  • Physically capable of maintaining an active role in educational and recreational settings.
  • Prior experience working with children is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
  • Execute behavior intervention strategies (BIPs) designed by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Behavior Specialist, focusing on specific behavioral objectives outlined in students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Deliver direct assistance to students with behavioral difficulties, implementing interventions and strategies specified in their BIPs across various educational environments (e.g., classroom, playground, cafeteria).
  • Employ positive behavior support methods and reinforcement techniques to instruct replacement behaviors, social skills, and coping mechanisms to students.
  • Gather data on student behavior and progress, utilizing behavior tracking systems and data collection tools to assess the effectiveness of interventions and make informed decisions.
  • Collaborate with educational staff, including teachers, administrators, and support personnel, to establish a unified support network for students with behavioral challenges.
  • Maintain regular communication with the BCBA/Behavior Specialist regarding student progress, behavioral concerns, and updates on intervention execution.
  • Engage in team meetings and student support discussions as necessary, contributing to the formulation and evaluation of behavior intervention plans and providing insights on student progress.
  • Uphold the confidentiality of student information and adhere to ethical standards and professional guidelines in behavior intervention practices.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Experience working with students exhibiting behavioral challenges, ideally in educational, home, or clinical settings.
  • Completion of training in behavior intervention techniques and methodologies.
  • Understanding of behavioral principles and evidence-based strategies for behavior management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and follow guidance from supervising BCBA/Behavior Supervisor.
  • Commitment to promoting positive behavior support and fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
